Preview a CSV import or Google Sheets sync

What this article helps you do

Check a CSV file, CSV URL, or Google Sheets source before you import or sync it. The preview does not create, update, or delete stores.

Preview a CSV

  1. In Mapstore, go to Stores -> Bulk.
  2. Select File or URL.
  3. Select the source.
  4. If this is a replacement import, select Delete existing stores uploaded through CSV so the preview includes those deletions.
  5. Click Test CSV.

Preview a Google Sheet

  1. In Stores -> Bulk, enter the published Google Sheets CSV URL.
  2. Click Test sheet.

You can test the URL before you save the sync settings. Save the settings before you use Run manual sync.

Read the result

The preview shows:

  • Rows ready to import and rows that Mapstore skips
  • Stores that Mapstore plans to create, update, delete, or leave unchanged
  • The projected store total and your plan limit
  • How many rows Mapstore must geocode
  • Warnings and skipped-row causes

A Blocked result means the planned store total is above the current plan limit. A Review result has warnings or skipped rows that you must check.

Correct the source and test again until the result is correct. Then, start the upload or sync.

Important limits of a preview

A preview is a snapshot. The import result can change if the source data, current stores, plan, or geocoding result changes before the import. Review the import or sync result after the operation.
