Change map style and text

What this article helps you do

Change the appearance and text of your store locator. Use the Mapstore map block and the style and text app embeds in the Shopify theme editor.

Before you start

• Mapstore is installed.
• The map block is on a page.
• You have access to your Shopify theme editor (Online Store -> Themes -> Customize).

Step-by-step instructions

1. Open the theme editor

1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store -> Themes.
2. Click Customize on your active theme.

2. Open map style settings

1. In the theme editor, select a page that has the Mapstore map block.
2. If the page does not have the block, add the block.
3. If Mapstore Style Settings is disabled, enable it in App embeds.
4. Open the Mapstore Style Settings embed.
5. To change the map style, open the Mapstore Map block settings.
6. Select a predefined style or add a custom style URL.

3. Open text settings

1. If Mapstore Text Settings is disabled, enable it in App embeds.
2. Open the Mapstore Text Settings embed.
3. Edit labels such as “Directions”, “Business hours”, “Search”, “Load more”, and other storefront copy.

4. Save your changes

Click Save in the theme editor to keep your style and text changes.

How to verify it worked

1. Save the theme.
2. View your store locator page on the storefront.
3. Check that the map colors and style match your settings.
4. Make sure that the labels show your new text.
5. If you changed map behavior, test different devices or zoom levels.
