View store locator activity

What this article helps you do

See which storefront actions Mapstore records in Insights.

Before you start

  • The Mapstore map block is live on your storefront.
  • The store locator has recorded storefront activity.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Open Insights in Mapstore

  1. In Mapstore, go to Insights in the primary navigation.
  2. Make sure that you can see the store-locator metrics.

2. Searches made

  • Mapstore records a search after a shopper enters at least three characters.
  • It records the query after the results load and the query stays unchanged for 1.2 seconds.
  • The chart groups searches by query.

3. Filter use

  • Mapstore records a named filter after the filtered results load.
  • Mapstore does not record the All selection as a filter event.
  • The chart groups events by filter name.

4. Store clicks

  • Mapstore counts each Show on map action from a store result.
  • The chart groups clicks by store name.
  • Directions, email, phone, share, and website actions are separate event types.

5. Total activity

  • Total activity is the sum of all retained event rows for the selected period.
  • It includes more event types than the search, filter, and store-click cards.
  • Other event types include views, country changes, nearby searches, link clicks, leads, and product availability.

6. Select a date range

Use the date picker to view a period from the last 90 days. It changes the charts but not the Download all data export.

How to verify it worked

  1. Open Insights.
  2. Make sure that you can see the metrics.
  3. Enter a minimum of three characters in the search field.
  4. Apply a named filter.
  5. Use Show on map for a store.
  6. After Mapstore processes the events, refresh Insights.
