Add Mapstore to your theme

What this article helps you do

Add the Mapstore map block and related app embeds to your Shopify theme. The block shows your store locator on the storefront.

Before you start

• Mapstore is installed.
• You have one or more stores.
• You have access to Online Store -> Themes -> Customize.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Open the theme editor

1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store -> Themes.
2. Click Customize on your active theme.

2. Add the Mapstore map block

1. Go to the page for the store locator.
2. Add a new section or select an existing section.
3. Click Add block.
4. In the Apps section, find Mapstore.
5. Add the Map block.
6. Make sure that you can see the map with your stores.

3. Enable the Mapstore app embeds

Mapstore also includes two app embeds that control storefront customization:

• Mapstore Style Settings
• Mapstore Text Settings

Enable or edit the app embeds as follows:

1. In the theme editor, open App embeds or use the Mapstore links from the Mapstore home page.
2. If an app embed is disabled, enable it.
3. Open each embed to adjust styling or text labels.

4. Add the product availability block if you use product-to-store assignments

To let shoppers check product stock, add the Product availability app block on a product template:

1. In the theme editor, open a product template.
2. Add a block from Apps.
3. Select Product availability.
4. Put the button in the necessary position.
5. Click Save.

5. Save your changes

Click Save in the theme editor to apply the changes to your storefront.

How to verify it worked

1. Open the page on your storefront.
2. Make sure that the map loads and shows your stores.
3. Search for a store.
4. Click the store.
5. Make sure that you can see its details and directions.
6. If you enabled product availability, make sure that you can see the button on product pages.
