Installation, setup, and first steps with Mapstore

Add email recipients

Add team members who receive Mapstore service emails. Mapstore sends these emails to the recipients that you add and to the Shopify shop email.

Add Mapstore to your theme

Add the Mapstore map block and app embeds in the Shopify theme editor. The map block shows your store locator on the storefront.

Check your store locator before launch

Do these checks before you make your store locator public. Check your stores, the map, search, filters, and the optional features that you use.

Install Mapstore

Install Mapstore on your Shopify store and open the app. Use the setup guide to add stores, add the map block to your theme, and change its appearance.

CSV uploads and Google Sheets sync

Choose how to add stores

Compare manual entry, CSV file import, CSV URL import, and Google Sheets sync. Select the correct method for how you add and update your stores.

Fix skipped CSV rows

Find out why Mapstore skips CSV rows during an import. Use the row numbers in the result to add a missing name or address, then import the file again.

Import stores from a CSV file

Upload a CSV file to import store locations into Mapstore in bulk. Use this method for one import or for updates that you do not make frequently.

Import stores from a CSV URL

Import store locations into Mapstore from a CSV file at a public URL. Use this method for a file in cloud storage or in a different online service.

Prepare a CSV file

Prepare a CSV file with the required columns and correctly formatted store data. Then import your locations into Mapstore without errors or skipped rows.

Prepare a Google Sheet

Use the Mapstore Google Sheets template to prepare store data. Then publish the sheet as CSV, because Mapstore accepts the published CSV URL only.

Preview a CSV import or Google Sheets sync

Check a CSV file, CSV URL, or Google Sheet before you import or sync it. The preview shows planned changes and skipped rows but does not change stores.

Replace CSV-imported stores

Replace the stores from a previous CSV import with a new CSV file. Mapstore keeps the stores that you added manually and all sheet-managed stores.

Sync stores with Google Sheets

Connect a published Google Sheet to Mapstore. Mapstore updates store locations from the sheet at the times that you select, or when you start a sync.

Managing Stores

Organize, filter, and maintain your store locations

Add a Google Place ID

Link one store to its Google Place with a Place ID. Mapstore can then sync the rating, review count, and opening hours from Google for that store.

Add custom fields

Add custom fields to stores, such as parking details or an appointment link. Show the fields in the store list, the marker popup, or the two positions.

Add or edit stores

Add stores manually and edit existing stores in the Mapstore admin. Use the store form to set the address, contact information, status, filters, and notes.

Add store filters

Add filter tags to stores so that shoppers can refine store locator results. Show a country selector when your active stores are in more than one country.

Change a store marker or directions link

Replace the default map marker or directions link for specified stores. Use two custom fields when the default marker or directions link is not correct.

Export stores

Get all Mapstore locations as a CSV file in a ZIP attachment by email. Use the file as a backup, edit it in a spreadsheet, or import it into a different shop.

Find stores in Mapstore

Use search, status filters, and sort options to find stores in the Mapstore admin. Find a specified set of stores quickly when you review or update them.

Stores from Google Sheets

Learn how sheet-managed stores from Google Sheets work in Mapstore. See which fields you can edit in Mapstore and which fields you must edit in the sheet.

Update several stores

Use bulk actions in the Stores list to update more than one store at a time. Change the status, pin or delete stores, and sync Google Place IDs.

Change map settings

Change how the store locator loads, sorts, and searches stores. Set the location, directions, and filter options, and the store details that shoppers see.

Change map style and text

Change the map design and the text that shoppers see. Use the Mapstore map block and the style and text app embeds in the Shopify theme editor.

Change store locator styles

Change the store locator appearance to match your brand. Set colors, font sizes, corner radius, button padding, button states, and the pin color of each filter.

Change store locator text

Change the text that shoppers see in the store locator, such as the Directions, Business hours, and Search labels. Edit the labels in the theme editor.

Change the map design

Select a built-in Mapstore map design or enter a custom MapLibre style URL. Change the appearance of the store locator map on your storefront.

Analytics, lead generation, and Google integration

Export store locator activity

Export all store locator activity that Mapstore keeps for your shop. Mapstore puts the activity in a CSV file and sends it as a ZIP attachment by email.

Set up the contact form

Create the contact form that shoppers see when no stores match their search. Mapstore sends each submission by email to the recipients that you set.

Show Google ratings and hours

Link each store to its Google Place with a Place ID. Mapstore can then show the Google rating, review count, and business hours in the store locator.

Show product availability by store

Assign products to stores and add the product availability block to your theme. Shoppers can then see which stores have a product on its product page.

View store locator activity

See the searches, filter use, store clicks, and other store locator activity that Mapstore records. Open Insights to view data from the last 90 days.

Check a CSV before replacement

Test a replacement CSV before it deletes or changes stores. Check the planned changes, skipped rows, and warnings, then start the replacement import.

Match CSV columns

Change column names from a previous store locator or spreadsheet to the names that Mapstore accepts. Mapstore also accepts some column aliases.

Move stores to Mapstore

Move your locations from a different store locator app to Mapstore. Export the data from the old app, prepare the CSV file, and import the stores.
