Add or edit stores

What this article helps you do

Add new store locations manually and edit existing stores. Use the store form to set the address, contact information, status, filters, and notes.

Before you start

• Mapstore is installed and configured for your Shopify store.
• You have access to Stores in the Mapstore admin.
• Stores from Google Sheets have read-only fields. See Stores from Google Sheets.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Create a new store

1. Go to Stores in Mapstore.
2. Click Add store.
3. Enter the required Name and Address values.
4. If necessary, add Phone, Email, Website, and Description.
5. In Image, paste a public URL or select a file from Shopify Files.
6. Set Status to Draft or Active. Mapstore does not show Draft stores on the storefront.
7. To put this store first in results, enable Pinned.
8. In Filters, enter a label for a storefront filter.
9. Click Add.
10. Add an internal Note (not shown to shoppers).
11. Use Geocode address or Find on map to set the location. You can also enter latitude and longitude directly.
12. Click Save to create the store.

2. Edit an existing store

1. Go to Stores.
2. Click a store to open it.
3. Update the applicable fields. These fields include address, contact information, status, filters, notes, and custom fields.
4. Click Save to apply changes.

3. Store form sections

The create and edit form has these sections:

• Basic info - Name, address, phone, email, website, description
• Image - Store image from Shopify Files or a public image URL
• Status & visibility - Status (draft/active), Pinned
• Filters - Add or remove labels used for storefront filtering
• Note - Internal note (hidden from storefront)
• Custom fields - Mapstore shows your custom fields here
• Google Place ID - For syncing ratings and hours
• Custom directions URL and Custom marker image - For per-store directions link and marker icon
• Product assignments - Link products to this store (if product availability is enabled)

How to verify it worked

1. For a new store, make sure that you can see it in the Stores list with the correct status.
2. For an Active store, open the store locator.
3. Make sure that you can see the store on the map and in the list.
4. Change a store field, such as the phone number.
5. Save the store.
6. Make sure that you can see the change on the storefront.
