Launch checklist for your store locator

What this article helps you do

Run through a quick checklist before making your store locator public so you catch common issues early and feel confident at launch.

Before you start

  • Mapstore is installed and you have added at least one store
  • The map block is added to a page in your theme
  • You can edit your theme and access Mapstore settings

Step-by-step instructions

1. Confirm stores are visible

  • Open Stores in Mapstore and ensure each location you want to show has Status set to Active.
  • Draft stores do not appear on the storefront.

2. Verify the map appears on the right page

  • In the theme editor, confirm the Mapstore map block is on the page shoppers will visit (e.g. your Find a Store or Store Locator page).
  • Save the theme so changes take effect.

3. Check addresses and geocoding

  • Visit the store locator on your storefront and confirm each store shows on the map in the correct location.
  • If a store is missing or in the wrong place, fix the address in Mapstore and save.

4. Test search and filters (if used)

  • If you use filters or tags, try searching and filtering as a shopper would.
  • Ensure results match expectations.

5. Optional: Test lead form and product availability

  • If you use lead forms, submit a test message and confirm you receive it.
  • If you use product availability, open a product page and confirm stores show correctly.

How to verify it worked

  • Every active store appears on the map.
  • Search and filters return the expected results.
  • The store locator page loads quickly and looks correct on mobile and desktop.
