Customize text labels and storefront copy

What this article helps you do

Change the text shoppers see on your store locator - labels like “Directions”, “Business hours”, “Search”, and other storefront copy - so it matches your tone and branding.

Before you start

  • Mapstore is installed and the map block is on a page
  • You have access to the theme editor

Step-by-step instructions

1. Open text settings

  • In the theme editor, open App embeds and enable Mapstore Text Settings if needed.
  • Open the Mapstore Text Settings embed, or use the Open text settings link from the Mapstore home page.
  • The app embed opens with text controls.

2. Edit labels and headings

  • Use the text fields to change labels such as:
    • “Show on map”
    • “Business hours”
    • “Directions”
    • “Find stores near me”
    • “Search” placeholder
    • “No stores found” message
    • “Website”, “Email”, “Share”, “Reset”, and other storefront copy
  • Type your preferred wording in each field.

3. Save and preview

  • Click Save in the theme editor.
  • Open the store locator on the storefront and confirm the new text appears where expected.

How to verify it worked

  1. Save the theme and visit the store locator.
  2. Check that labels (e.g. Directions, Business hours, Search) show your custom text.
  3. Test the “No stores found” state by searching for a location with no results.
