Add Mapstore blocks to your theme

What this article helps you do

Add the Mapstore map block and related app embeds to your Shopify theme so your store locator appears on your storefront.

Before you start

• Mapstore is installed and you have at least one store
• You have access to Online Store -> Themes -> Customize

Step-by-step instructions

1. Open the theme editor

1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store -> Themes.
2. Click Customize on your active theme.

2. Add the Mapstore map block

1. Go to the page where you want the store locator (e.g. a “Store locator” or “Find us” page).
2. Add a new section or select an existing one.
3. Click Add block.
4. In the Apps section, find Mapstore and add the Map block.
5. The map will appear with your stores.

3. Enable the Mapstore app embeds

Mapstore also includes two app embeds that control storefront customization:

• Mapstore Style Settings
• Mapstore Text Settings

To enable or edit them:

1. In the theme editor, open App embeds or use the Mapstore links from the Mapstore home page.
2. Turn on Mapstore Style Settings and Mapstore Text Settings if they are disabled.
3. Open each embed to adjust styling or text labels.

4. Add the product availability block if you use product-to-store assignments

If you want shoppers to check where a product is stocked, add the separate Product availability app block on a product template:

1. In the theme editor, open a product template.
2. Add a block from Apps.
3. Choose Product availability.
4. Save after placing it where you want the button to appear.

5. Save your changes

Click Save in the theme editor to apply the changes to your storefront.

How to verify it worked

1. View the page on your storefront (as a customer).
2. The map loads and shows your stores.
3. You can search and click stores for details and directions.
4. If you enabled product availability, the button appears on product pages.
