Changing map styling and storefront text

What this article helps you do

Change how your store locator looks and what text it shows using the Mapstore map block plus the Mapstore style and text app embeds in the Shopify theme editor.

Before you start

• Mapstore is installed and the map block is added to a page
• You have access to your Shopify theme editor (Online Store -> Themes -> Customize)

Step-by-step instructions

1. Open the theme editor

1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store -> Themes.
2. Click Customize on your active theme.

2. Open map style settings

1. In the theme editor, select a page that has the Mapstore map block (or add it first).
2. Open App embeds and enable Mapstore Style Settings if needed.
3. Open the Mapstore Style Settings embed, or use the Open style settings link from the Mapstore home page.
4. Use the Mapstore Map block settings separately when you want to change the predefined map style or add a custom style URL.

3. Open text settings

1. Open App embeds and enable Mapstore Text Settings if needed.
2. Open the Mapstore Text Settings embed, or use the Open text settings link from the Mapstore home page.
3. Edit labels such as “Directions”, “Business hours”, “Search”, “Load more”, and other storefront copy.

4. Save your changes

Click Save in the theme editor to keep your style and text changes.

How to verify it worked

1. Save the theme and view your store locator page on the storefront.
2. Check that map colors and style match what you set.
3. Check that labels (e.g. “Directions”, “Business hours”, “Search”) show your updated text.
4. Try different devices or zoom levels if you changed map behavior.
